Congrats! If you are here at my Bradley Method birth education website, it probably means you are preparing to meet the newest member of your family.
The Bradley Method ® is a great way to be empowered and able to learn how to advocate for having a natural pregnancy and birth.
It is so empowering, reassuring, and encouraging to have a spouse/coach who trained and educated on what a laboring woman experiences. This course is a great tool to teach your significant other or whom ever will be your coach during the birth, how to effectively help you relax through contractions easing the perception of pain. If you are desiring additional support, I also have limited availability to offer that service to my students as well. What is a doula you ask? A doula is a helper to both mom and dad. My intent as a doula is never to replace the coach, but rather to add another set of hands, eyes, and knowledge to help the mother with relaxation and other tasks and to be an experienced source to help give confidence in your birthing ability, help with positioning, and to assist the coach and stay with the mother so the coach can eat and go to the bathroom with out leaving the mother unattended.
In this class we cover a very wide variety of topics about pregnancy, labor, pushing, postpartum and much more, including how the father can be the best coach for pregnancy and delivery. If there are certain topics you want to know more about, let me know and those will be some of the topics I go more in depth with. Every pregnancy is unique and needs and interests of each family vary and I do my best to tailor classes to meet those needs. I am here to serve YOU!
I offer a hybrid class. We meet in person on a Sunday for the first and last classes. The remainder of classes are virtual via ZOOM meetings currently held on Mondays from 6:30-8. Zoom classes are still interactive ( please ask questions! I do not want this to be a lecture!) I believe you will find this class full of valuable information. Bonus you don’t need to leave your house for most of it! (Eating supper during class is encouraged. Mamas got to eat!)
ABOUT THE CLASS
The Bradley Method ® courses are 12 weeks long to help you gain the most benefit. Day and time of the class series can be flexible based on the needs of the students interested in taking the class that series. You and your coach will receive access to the student center and online workbook. In class, group activities and videos are utilized to help prepare you and your coach physically, mentally and emotionally for the journey towards the debut of your little one.
I recommend starting The Bradley Method® during your second trimester. The more time you have to prepare your body and mind the better! You will get out of this class what you put into it. Our key focuses are nutrition, exercise, and LOTS of relaxation practice along side all the other valuable information about all things pregnancy and labor. We will cover many topics you may not have thought needed research. The more effort you put into your nutrition, exercises and relaxation, the more you will benefit from this class.
ABOUT ME
I’m Miranda Sorenson and I’ve been a mom since the spring of 2015 when I found out I was expecting. Since then I have had 3 beautiful children, each with their own unique Bradley birth story. Looking back, it was a blessing that I have gotten to experience so many settings to birth; hospital, birth center and home birth. I have lots of experience to share with you! I knew that I wanted to have a natural (unmedicated) birth if at all possible and my midwife highly recommended taking The Bradley Method ® birth class, also known as husband coached childbirth. I believe this class made a tremendous difference on how my pregnancies and labors turned out and I am so grateful for the knowledge, practice and support I gained because of it. I am passionate about helping other mothers and their coaches prepare and be confident about their pregnancy and labor while working with their body to achieve the best possible birth.
